Anyone, please HELP..I live in southern GA, 60 miles from the FL line. It is a relatively small town. We do have an animal shelter, & although they are doing better...they do not always respond to reports for animal rescue/help etc. They are still at this time a kill shelter as well. This afternoon I observed what looked like a Dachshund/Black couldn't tell if it were M or F. It was at an abandoned strip mall. I pulled in to try to see about the pup & it ran back into the bldg. It looked as if someone had cut out a panel in the bottom part of the door. I went to the nearest little store & bought a jug of water, a pack of weiners & some buns. I got styrofome bowls and put several bowls of water as well as pinched up some of the bread & weiners and put in the open area. I couldn't see the pup, as I figure it was hiding back in the bldg. I need HELP, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE..someone, anyone help me. I have no idea if the shelter here will follow up on this. I imagine a trap will be needed to get this dog. I think from what I could tell, that this dog would be VERY adoptable. I also thought IF this were a female, I wondered if it had puppies in the bldg. The heat has been awful here, with the heat index today I think at 105. This dog NEEDS to be rescued. At present I have four rescue dogs & eight rescue cats. The last rescue dog I absolutely got from right close to a busy hwy. I'd seen a man with the dog earlier in the wk, w/a sign saying he needed a job. I know people are falling on hard times, but I have NO consideration for anyone who would dump or leave an animal. It's wrong..they are God's precious creatures. Please help!! I live in Moultrie, GA The hwy this strip mall is on is the Sylvester Hwy., near Georgia Power & Farm Bureau Insurance. Leaving Moultrie you actually pass the Humane Shelter & within a mile I imagine is this abandoned strip mall on the right..it's a peach color. You get to it before the Farm Bureau Ins. on the left. I think GA Power may be close to across the street from this place. PLEASE HELP!! S.J. Rentz Moultrie, GA "Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened."
